Summer Camp Just Got More Inclusive
Faith on the Spectrum attended DARC Summer Camp!
Summer can be an incredible time for kids—filled with fun, friendship, and memories. But for children with autism or other sensory or developmental needs, summer camp can also feel overwhelming, unpredictable, or even isolating. That’s where we came in.
Faith on the Spectrum partnered with DARC to offer Buddy support to children who can benefit from a little extra help to enjoy their summer camp experience. Our trained volunteers walked alongside a few of the children helping them transition between activities, stay regulated during overwhelming moments, and feel safe and supported while still having fun.
We were there for any child enrolled in DARC summer camp who could benefit from a little extra support.
Whether your child has autism, anxiety, sensory processing differences, ADHD, or just struggles with transitions, we’re here for them.
As a parent myself, I know how it feels when your child needs someone besides you to help them get through the day. Sometimes, what they need most is a calm, caring Buddy who isn’t mom or dad.
