Summer Camp Just Got More Inclusive
Faith on the Spectrum is offering Buddy Support at DARC Summer Camp!
Summer can be an incredible time for kids—filled with fun, friendship, and memories. But for children with autism or other sensory or developmental needs, summer camp can also feel overwhelming, unpredictable, or even isolating.
That’s where we come in.
Faith on the Spectrum is partnering with DARC to offer Buddy support to children who need a little extra help to enjoy their summer camp experience. Our trained volunteers are ready to walk alongside your child—helping them transition between activities, stay regulated during overwhelming moments, and feel safe and supported while still having fun.
☀️ Where We’ll Be
We will be at East Ward Elementary in Downingtown:
Week 1: July 28 – July 31
Week 2: August 4 – August 7
Only need support one day or part of the week? That’s okay!
Looking at a different DARC week? Reach out—we may be able to accommodate.
🤝 Who is this for?
Any child enrolled in DARC summer camp who could benefit from a little extra support.
Whether your child has autism, anxiety, sensory processing differences, ADHD, or just struggles with transitions—we’re here for them.
As a parent myself, I know how it feels when your child needs someone besides you to help them get through the day. Sometimes, what they need most is a calm, caring Buddy who isn’t mom or dad.
Interested in Volunteering?
We’re also welcoming volunteers to serve as Buddies at camp! Whether you’re a teen, a parent, a student, or someone who just wants to help—this is your chance to make a difference.
Parents of teens or young adults with autism: We’d love to have them volunteer too! We will assign a Buddy helper to support them as they support others—because everyone deserves the chance to shine.
